Hello again,
I'm here today to show you the other card I made at the workshop a couple of weeks ago. Again, a lovely design from Diane Boden-Crane.
The trellis behind the flowers is made with carefully placed quilling strips. It creates an effective backdrop for the flowers. I love these quilled daffodils - they are so easy to make and yet look so pretty. The message is printed on my PC and punched out using the Stamping Up window punch. I've just listed this card in my Etsy shop - see the link to the right.
Spring is definitely my favourite time of year - everything beginning to come to life again and the promise of so many good things to come.
I've just managed to get hold of a new quilling book "Quilled Flowers" by Ali Bartowski. It contains some lovely designs - I can't wait to have some time to play! Only one more week of the day job before two weeks off.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Jill
Ooops. I'm a day late with posting this week. Don't know what happened to the weekend.
I hope all you mums out there had a lovely day yesterday and were spoiled rotten. Today I thought I'd show you the card I made for my mum on Mother's Day. It's always a challenge making special cards for my family as they have seen all of my usual designs - coming up with something new each time keeps me on my toes!
This is the card I made last Saturday on Diane's workshop - it took me more than 3 hours to make each of those petals individually and put it all together, but mu mum is worth it. And she really loved it.
Will be back next week,
Jill
Good evening everyone,
Another very late post from me. I do have good excuses though. Firstly, I've been putting the final touches to the assignment I've been working on so that's it's now ready to print and hand in. Hurray! I really feel as though I will now get my life back. Secondly, my youngest daughter borrowed my camera today and I've only just got it back - the photos I want to show you tonight were on the memory card in the camera!
The card I'm sharing tonight is a rare one for me - a card that's suitable for men. Like a lot of crafters, I really struggle with designs for male cards, especially if I want to make it a quilled card. The idea for this one came from one of my very good customers. She asked if I had any cards suitable for a man and said if not could I do one of my bunting cards in more appropriate colours for a man. Well, here's the result:
The original idea for the quilled bunting once again came from my very reliable source of inspiration, Diane Boden Crane. I did a workshop with Diane this weekend and again came away with lots of ideas for very special cards. I made a lovely card for my mum for Mother's Day which I'll share week.
I have this bunting card for sale in my shops but in much more fun girly colours, although you can request any colour scheme you would like. I made a card like this for my youngest daughter's 14th birthday and she loved it - bunting is so "on trend" at the moment.
Hope you like it! See you next week,
Jill
Hi everyone,
Just dropping in here very quickly tonight to announce the winner of my Mother's Day card giveaway.
I used a very low tech method to choose the winner - all the names on slips of paper in a hat and my daughter picked one. So without further delay, the winner is (drum roll, please):
Well done, Janice. If you can let me have your address (jilldchapman@gmail.com) I'll pop the card straight in the post for you. Thanks so much to everyone who entered.
Must dash. The first 100 cards for the big order were posted this week but still working on the essay - hopefully will have lots of exciting cards to show you once it's done (can't wait!),
Jill
