About Me

Chertsey, Surrey, United Kingdom
Hello, I'm Jill - mother of three grown up children and wife to Geoff. I have been crafting one way or another for as long as I can remember. In the1990's I discovered quilling and in 2009 I began selling my quilled card designs online (https://folksy.com/shops/PaperDaisyCardDesign) - this continues to go from strength to strength. My blog "Paper Daisy Cards" features my handmade cards, quilled or otherwise! More recently I re-discovered rubber stamping and became an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator, showcasing and selling high quality paper crafting materials including rubber stamps, inks, cardstock, punches and dies. My blog "Paper Daisy Crafting" features my creations made with Stampin' Up! products, a list of all the papercrafting classes I run, all the latest news and offers and a link to my online shop , so that you too can join in the fun!

Paper quilling Father's Day cards

Hello everyone,

So sorry for missing my regular post last week - just don't know where the time went. Feeling very chilled and relaxed today as I have a week off from the day job to look forward to - lots of card-making opportunities.

Well, I suppose today I should really be posting something that reflects the Jubilee celebrations this weekend. Sadly I am not that organised but I am feeling smug that I have at last managed to list a couple of Father's Day cards in my Etsy and Folksy shops.

This first card is, I think, adapted from a design by Jane Jenkins. I just love how it's possible to make those cute carrots, cabbages and cauliflowers, all from paper.

The second card is a design that I have been making for years but had been sadly neglected.

Both of these cards can easily be personalised for a male birthday, rather than Father's Day. I still find making cards for men a huge challenge, so it's good to have at least a couple of designs in my armoury!

Well that's me for today. Enjoy the Jubilee celebrations if you are in the UK. I may well be back during the week to show any new designs I mange to come up with in my week off!

Jill x

  3. I hope that you will have nothing against if I will take advantage of your idea. More I will use it as the inspiration and I will want despite everything to give something from myself, but these carrots are for crunching:)

    1. Hi Anna, I'm happy for people to use my ideas as inspiration for their own personal use. I just ask that no-one tries to sell designs copied from mine :) Jill

  5. These designs are beautiful, great if the recipient is into gardening! Do you have any tips/pointers on what shapes and strip lengths you used etc?
